EVENT: UT Humanities Centerā€™s Distinguished Lecture Series

The Humanities Center at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville will host ā€œA Counterhistory of Data Visualizationā€ on April 15 as part of their 2023-2024 Distinguished Lecture Series. The talk will be given by visiting scholar Lauren Klein of Emory University and will focus the ā€œreturn to the origins of modern data visualization in order excavate this meaning, showing how data visualization always carries a set of implicit assumptionsā€”and, at times, explicit argumentsā€”about how knowledge is produced, and who is authorized to produce it.ā€
