The Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) has shared “Digital Scholarship Centers: Trends And Good Practice,” the product of an April 2014 meeting that discussed “varying models of supporting digital scholarship in higher education, focusing on those that involve partnerships with, or a strong role for, libraries and information technology units.”
The report seeks to draw a distinction between digital scholarship centers and digital humanities centers, to discuss the central role of libraries in digital scholarship centers, to outline the benefits of using a a “partnership model” rather than “client model,” and to describe roles that centers should play in supporting teaching and learning.
The report was published as the fall 2014 CNI membership meeting was being held. The schedule and related resources from the meeting are available online.
