The third and final part of OCLC Research Discussion Series, the Closing Plenary webinar, will take place on Tuesday, April 13, and will bring together and highlight what was discussed in the previous sessions. The series focused around two reports: âTransitioning to the Next Generation of Metadataâ, by Karen Smith-Yoshimura, which âbrought together six years of discussions with the OCLC Research Library Partners Metadata Managers Focus Group that shone a light on the evolution of the next generation of metadata,â and âTransforming Metadata into Linked Data to Improve Digital Collection Discoverability: A CONTENTdm Pilot Projectâ a report published earlier this year that âshares the CONTENTdm Linked Data Pilot project findings, where OCLC and five partner institutions investigated methods forâand the feasibility ofâtransforming metadata into linked data to improve the discoverability and management of digitized cultural materials.â Interested parties can click here to register.
The recording from the Opening Plenary and blog posts from the Interactive Round Table are also accessible.
