POST: Acquiring at Digital Scale: Harvesting the StoryCorps.me Collection

StoryCorps, a large-scale oral history project archived at the American Folklife Center, recently created the StoryCorps.me mobile application to act as “a global platform where anyone in the world can record and upload an oral history interview.” In a post to The Signal, the Library of Congress digital preservation blog, Nicole Saylor (American Folklife Center Archive) interviews Kate Zwaard and David Brunton (both Library of Congress) about the technical aspects of harvesting data from StoryCorps.me. The interview looks at how the collection is preserved and accessed, and offers takeaways for others hoping to collaborate on digital collections.
