dh+lib Review is a space that supports, promotes, and amplifies human experience and knowledge. As such, the editorial team does not allow uncritical use of generative AI (GenAI) to create content and output, and will not publish things that are not human-created. We welcome work that thoughtfully and critically explores GenAI in order to interrogate or critique these technologies. The editorial team does not use GenAI tools in the publication process.
The editorial team is responsible for verifying human authorship in cases where GenAI use is uncertain. Editors will consider AI disclosure statements along with gut checks on obvious AI tone and cadence. In the event that we mistakenly publish GenAI content, we will issue a retraction in the form of an editorial statement added to the original post, and strike through the original post’s text.
AI-generated content is not permitted for special issues and long-form pieces. CFP submissions will include GenAI disclosure questions. GenAI usage will not be permitted in the peer review process. Published pieces will include the author’s submitted disclosure responses, and/or an author statement reflecting on their engagement with GenAI. Special issue editors are encouraged to expand on our policy to reflect the needs of the special issue.
