OPPORTUNITY: ACH Special Interest Group: DH and the Environment

The Association for Computers and the Humanities (ACH) has launched a new Special Interest Group (SIG), DH and the Environment, focused on the environmental entanglements of digital humanities infrastructures, practices, and communities. The SIG’s theme for this academic year is AI’s impact on the environment, and meetings are being held every other month to discuss topics including carbon and water measurements, life cycle assessments, community impacts, refusal, and climate-conscious DH scholarship. Future themes may address topics such as cloud infrastructure, climate justice, climate data recovery, and environmental history. Those interested in joining can sign up for the mailing list at groups.io/g/ach-environment.
