CFP: Digital Humanities Utah 6

The sixth Digital Humanities Utah Symposium (DHU6) will be held on February 25-26, 2022 at Brigham Young University. Early career scholars, graduate students, newcomers to the digital humanities (DH), and members of traditionally underrepresented groups are especially welcome to apply. From the call for papers:

The DHU6 Executive Committee invites proposals for presentations. Proposals are due on November 30, 2021 and should be submitted via ConfTool. You will need to create an account to submit a proposal.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Computational and digital approaches to humanistic research
  • Humanistic examinations of the computational and digital
  • DH- and digital pedagogy, including pandemic pedagogy
  • Digital librarianship, including archives
  • DH tools and infrastructures
  • Physical computing
  • Use of digital technologies to write, publish, and review scholarship
  • Public scholarship

Proposals may be

  • standalone papers (15 minutes long, 250-500 word proposal)
  • panels (three 15-minute presentations on a related topic, 500-1000 word proposal)
  • roundtables (three or more speakers, 60 minutes total, 500-1000 word proposal)
  • hands-on workshops (60 minutes, 500-1000 word proposal)

Notifications of acceptances will be sent on December 21, 2021. The conference is currently planned to be held in-person, following all required and prudent COVID-19 guidelines. Should COVID-19 make this impossible, the conference will shift to virtual.
