The Getty has released 4,600 high-resolution images, with embedded metadata in RDF format, and made them “free to use, modify, and publish for any purpose.” The Getty plans to continue making content available through its Open Content Program, which follows the in the footsteps of other museums, such as The Walters Art Museum, of participating in open culture initiatives (e.g. OpenGLAM).
