CFP: Libraries As Research Partner in Digital Humanities

Organizers of a DH2019 pre-conference, “Libraries as a Research Partner in Digital Humanities,” have released a call for abstracts. The full-day pre-conference, which will be held in The Hague at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB, the National Library of the Netherlands) on July 8, will be comprised of workshops, and short papers, lightning talks, and panel sessions.

Suggested topics include:

  • Collections as data: building, maintaining, publishing, and contextualising
  • Building and sustaining a technical infrastructure
  • Building and maintaining Library Labs
  • Sustainable organisational commitments and policies
  • Staff skill-building / Library Carpentry
  • Invisible or precarious labour / credit creep
  • Relationship(-building)

Abstracts are due May 1, 2019. The organizers note that they are planning to make the pre-conference “virtually accessible via livestream, recording, and sharing of slides and other research materials,” with an option for remote presentation.
