The Library Publishing Coalition has released the Library Publishing Directory (PDF and EPUB), which “provides a snapshot of the publishing activities of 115 academic and research libraries, including information about the number and types of publications they produce, the services they offer authors, how they are staffed and funded, and the future plans of institutions that are engaged in this growing field.” In their introduction to the Directory, Sarah K. Lippincott, Katherine Skinner, and Charles Watkinson analyze the state of library publishing, as revealed through the surveys that informed the Directory‘s creation, observing and highlighting trends across the data.
